Why patients choose us for endodontics

The root canal you were dreading, done properly

Root canals earned their reputation decades ago, before rotary instruments, digital imaging and modern anaesthetics. Here is what the treatment actually looks like today.

Virtually pain-free

The tooth is fully numbed before we start, and the procedure removes the inflamed nerve that was causing the pain in the first place.

Usually one visit

Rotary endodontic instruments shape the canals in a fraction of the old hand-file time. 94% of our cases are completed in a single 90-minute appointment.

Keeps your own tooth

Nothing performs like a natural tooth. A root-treated tooth protected with a crown routinely lasts decades — and costs far less than an implant.

One fixed price

$649 for a front tooth, $849 for a molar, quoted in writing before we start. No per-canal surcharges appearing at the end.

What happens on the day

Your root canal, step by step

No surprises. Here is exactly what your appointment involves, from the moment you sit down to the moment you leave.

1. Digital diagnosis

Included in your consultation

A low-dose digital X-ray shows us the shape of the roots and how far the infection has spread, so there are no surprises once we begin.

2. Complete numbing

Sedation available

Numbing gel first, then a modern long-acting anaesthetic. We do not start until you confirm the tooth is completely numb. Sedation is available if you are anxious.

3. Cleaning the canals

The main part, about 45 min

The infected pulp is removed and each canal is cleaned, disinfected and shaped with rotary instruments under a protective rubber dam.

What does it feel like?

4. Sealing the tooth

Same appointment

The cleaned canals are filled with a biocompatible material and sealed, which stops bacteria getting back in and re-infecting the tooth.

5. Crown protection

From $795 when needed

Back teeth take heavy chewing forces, so we usually recommend a crown afterwards. It protects the tooth and is colour-matched to sit invisibly in your smile.

Why choose OMG Dental Care

Endodontics done by clinicians who do it every day

A root canal is only as good as the person performing it. Ours are carried out by dentists with dedicated post-graduate endodontic training, using equipment most general practices do not have.

  • Magnification on every case Surgical loupes and a dental operating microscope let us find and treat the narrow accessory canals that cause most re-treatments.
  • Rubber dam as standard Isolating the tooth keeps saliva and bacteria out of the canals. It is the single biggest predictor of long-term success.
  • Written quote before we start One fixed fee covering the whole treatment, with 0% finance over 6 to 24 months if you would rather spread it.
  • Two-year treatment guarantee If a tooth we have treated needs re-treatment within two years, we do it at no additional charge.
Patient stories

What patients say about their root canal

Sample testimonials shown for layout purposes. Replace with your own verified patient reviews before running live traffic.

I had put this off for two years because I was terrified. It took ninety minutes, I felt nothing, and I drove myself back to work afterwards. Two years of dread for that.

Another practice quoted me for an extraction and an implant. These guys looked at the X-ray and said the tooth was perfectly savable. Saved me thousands.
Amara L. Root canal and crown · Westlake
The price I was quoted on the phone was the price I paid. They walked me through the X-ray, explained the alternatives honestly, and never once pushed the expensive option.

Common questions

Root canal FAQs

The questions patients ask us most often before booking.

For the vast majority of patients, no. The tooth is completely numbed first and we do not begin until you confirm it. Because the procedure removes the inflamed nerve, most people report that the treatment is far more comfortable than the toothache that led them to book it. Mild tenderness for a few days afterwards is normal and responds well to ordinary painkillers.

A typical appointment runs about 90 minutes. Front teeth have a single canal and are often quicker; molars have three or four canals and take longer. Around 94% of our cases are completed in one visit, though a heavily infected tooth may need a second appointment to make sure it is fully settled before sealing.

Our fixed fee is $649 for a front tooth and $849 for a molar, which covers diagnosis, the treatment itself and your follow-up review. A protective crown, where recommended, starts at $795. Everything is quoted in writing before treatment begins and 0% payment plans are available over 6 to 24 months.

Extraction is quicker and cheaper on the day, but it leaves a gap that affects chewing and lets neighbouring teeth drift. Replacing the tooth with an implant typically costs three to four times more than saving it. Where a tooth is restorable, keeping your own is almost always the better long-term decision — and we will tell you honestly when it is not.

A well-treated tooth protected by a crown routinely lasts decades, and many last a lifetime. The two biggest factors are placing a crown on back teeth so the tooth does not fracture under chewing forces, and normal daily brushing and flossing. We include a two-year guarantee on re-treatment.

Yes, if you have had local anaesthetic only. Your lip and tongue will be numb for two to three hours, so avoid hot drinks and take care not to bite your cheek. If you choose sedation you will need someone to drive you home and you should take the rest of the day off.
